Almost 8% of the population defines itself as ‘Veggie’, which involves giving up -or reducing to a minimum- the consumption of animal-based products and opting for a classic vegetarian diet (which can include animal products such as eggs, milk, etc.) or vegan (which rejects any product or food of animal origin)
Despite the fact that the Veggie movement is becoming more popular in Biscay, we know that both vegetarians and vegans sometimes have difficulty in finding an establishment that offers Veggie food, particularly if they come from other countries and are not familiar with our restaurants and bars that offer vegan food.
Sometimes it is difficult to go out for a drink or meal with friends and find places where vegans or vegetarians in the group can also enjoy the food and not just the company.
